Windfarm Planning & Visual Impact Assessment

RDI Windfarm Visual Impact Assessment

KB Fairhurst served as expert witness to the AUC during hearings for a major windfarm proposed around Sedalia in south-eastern Alberta. RDI adapted our Visual Landscape System to assess impacts on visual quality, and utilized EMD windPro Photomontage and Visual Nature Studio for visual simulations.

The Alberta Utility Commission's findings are found at the following link here. The discussions and findings relating to visual quality and KB Fairhurst's submissions are in Section 5. The AUC found visual impact would be significant (Sec. 114), acceptable (Sec. 115), and not prohibitive in and of itself (Sec. 116).
